NHLDS Hosts High-Level Delegation on Laboratory Systems Strengthening
01/December/2025: Kampala-Uganda.
This week, the National Health Laboratory and Diagnostic Services (NHLDS) is hosting a high-level delegation comprising experts from the World Health Organization (WHO), the Global Fund, and the Africa CDC – ECSA Health.
The visiting team is leading an intensive training program focused on Laboratory Systems Maturity Monitoring (LSMM), a critical framework designed to assess and strengthen the performance, governance, and resilience of national laboratory systems.
During the visit, participants will engage with NHLDS leadership and technical teams, conduct hands-on sessions, and review best practices to ensure that laboratory services continue to meet international standards.
This collaboration reflects Uganda’s ongoing commitment to building robust, sustainable laboratory systems capable of responding effectively to current and emerging public health challenges across Africa.
The delegation was warmly received by the Ministry of Health Director General, Dr. Charles Olaro, Commissioner of NHLDS, Dr. Susan Nabadda, and the senior management team.
